He holds the scroll out so you can read your own name on it.

Brother Osk kept the castle’s records, births and deaths and debts, and the hourglass is the last thing he ever counted. His beard runs long under the hood, the scroll is thrust forward at arm’s length like a summons, and the sand in the glass never quite runs out. Whether he is reading the list of the dead or the list of the about to be dead depends on what your party has done.

Two Props, Two Jobs: The scroll is held side on, curled at both ends, with a clean flat surface between the rollers that is ready for a few lines of tiny script or a single red seal. The hourglass sits against his chest with its pillars and bulbs fully modelled, so it is the one place on the figure where hard edges and a gloss varnish pay off. Keep the hood and beard deep and dark and his skull face reads even at arm’s length.
