Not every ghost in the churchyard wants the living gone.

Sister Aveline kept the night vigil at the chapel for forty winters, and when she died nobody told her to stop. So she has not. She floats at the end of the nave with her hands pressed together and her eyes on the rafters, praying for every soul in the yard outside, including the ones who do not deserve it. She is calm, kind and utterly unwilling to leave until the last of them is at rest.

Stillness Against Motion: Her front is quiet and symmetrical: joined hands, straight gown, face tipped up under the hood. Her back is the opposite, with the long veil swept out behind her in deep, heavy folds. That contrast is the whole design, so keep the front soft and let the veil carry your strongest highlights. The joined hands are cleanly separated finger by finger, and the deep hood throws her face into shadow that a wash will exaggerate.

She has been praying for the windswept ghost lady longest of all.
