She is still doing the rounds of the nursery. There have been no children in it for a very long time.

Old Wenna raised the prince from the cradle and outlived him by a single winter. She walks the upper corridors after dark with the candle held up and the little bear tucked against her chest, checking beds that are empty, humming something nobody alive remembers the words to. She is not hostile. That is what makes her the most unsettling thing in the castle.

The Gentlest Silhouette In The Set: Everything about her is soft: the hood, the veil, the long sleeves, the gown trailing into wisps. That makes the two hard props the focal points, so paint them first. The candle flame and holder take a warm glow against a cold ghost, and the stuffed bear has stitched seams and button features crisp enough for a fine brush. Give the bear a real colour and leave the rest of her pale and she becomes the saddest model on your shelf.
