From the maker
You hear it before you see it, and you never really see it.
The shepherds in the high passes call it the Sirocco and leave the gate open so it does not have to come through the wall. From the waist down it is a tornado, ribbons of wind twisting tighter and tighter until the whole figure balances on a narrow spiral. From the waist up it leans into the gust, hair whipped back, hands hooked and reaching, ribbons of air still wrapping round its chest like a scarf that will not stop moving.
Clear Resin Is Its Natural State: Air is the one element that looks right with almost no paint at all. A pale blue grey wash run into the spiral grooves picks out the vortex, and a light white drybrush on the ribbon edges gives the motion a leading edge. Keep the face and hands slightly more opaque than the body so it reads as something inside the wind, not just wind.
