Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Howdoicomputer, LLC ("Plukio", "we", "us") governing your use of Plukio at plukio.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Plukio.

About Plukio

Plukio is a search and discovery service for independent online shops. We index publicly available catalog information from shops' own websites and make it browsable in one place. Plukio is not a store. We do not sell anything, we do not process payments, and we are never a party to any purchase. When you choose to buy an item, you leave Plukio for the shop's own website, and your purchase — including payment, shipping, returns, and any dispute — is entirely between you and that shop, under the shop's own terms and policies.

Your account

An account is optional — you can browse without one. Accounts use passwordless, magic-link sign-in. Keep access to your email secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, use one account per person, and do not share or transfer your account.

Listings are indexed snapshots

  • Product information on Plukio (titles, descriptions, prices, availability, images) is collected from shops' public websites and reflects what was published there when we last checked. It can be outdated or incomplete — the shop's own website is always authoritative.
  • Prices are shown in the shop's own currency. Where a shop does not price in US dollars we may also show an approximate US dollar figure (marked with "≈") so you can compare items across shops. That figure is an estimate from a published daily reference rate — it is not what you will be charged. You pay the shop directly, in the shop's currency, and your bank or card issuer sets the rate and any fees that actually apply.
  • Appearing on Plukio is not an endorsement, and we do not inspect, verify, or guarantee any shop or item.
  • When you follow a "buy" link, we record that a click happened (see the Privacy Policy) and send you to the shop's site.

Shops and claiming

  • Shops appear on Plukio because we indexed their public website. If you operate a shop, you may claim it (with verification of ownership) to unlock messaging, crawl controls, and analytics. You may only claim a shop you are authorized to represent.
  • Shop owners can control or end their presence on Plukio at any time — via their own robots.txt, the controls on a claimed shop, or by contacting us. See our crawler page at plukio.com/bot. Opt-outs are honored without argument.

Fees

Plukio is currently free to use for shoppers and shop owners. There are no listing fees, subscriptions, or commissions, and Plukio never handles money between you and a shop. If we introduce paid features, we will say so clearly before you use them.

Prohibited content and conduct

Our Prohibited Items Policy describes content we will not index or keep indexed. When using the Service you may not engage in fraud, harassment, spam, misuse of messaging, false reports or false shop claims, or interference with the Service. We may remove content from the index, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (such as messages and reports) and grant Plukio a license to use it to operate the Service. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

Intellectual property

Plukio and its software, design, and trademarks are owned by Howdoicomputer, LLC. Shop and product content belongs to the respective shops and rights holders — we display it with attribution and links to the source to help people find those shops. If you believe content indexed on Plukio infringes your copyright or trademark, see our DMCA Policy; shop owners can also have their content removed at any time via the opt-out paths above.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Plukio at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Plukio is a discovery service, not a merchant: we do not make, sell, inspect, or guarantee any item, we do not guarantee the accuracy of indexed information, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any shop. Your purchases from shops are at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plukio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited [to $100 — cap to be confirmed with counsel; the Service is free].

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Howdoicomputer, LLC from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. [Dispute-resolution mechanics — including venue and whether disputes are resolved by arbitration with a class-action waiver — to be decided with counsel.]

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
