Ilsevar holds it out at full arm’s length, away from her face and her hair, which tells you she learned that lesson the hard way. She walks with her other fist clenched at her side and a jewelled circlet across her brow, skirt split to the hip so it never slows her down. Elves are supposed to be patient. She is not, and the fire knows it.

A Flame Worth The Effort: The fire at the head of the staff is sculpted as real licking tongues rather than a lump, so it rewards a proper glow treatment: white or pale yellow in the deepest recesses, through orange, out to red at the tips. Reflect a little of that onto the hand and sleeve below it and the whole model lights up. The rest of her is soft fabric in big folds, with the puffed sleeves and long skirt taking a wash and a highlight without any fuss.
