She is not charging. She is holding the gap, and the spear says nobody passes.

Caelith of the Greywood stands with her feet set wide and her spear grounded at arm’s length, the shield tight to her body and the tree of her house worked across its face. Her ponytail streams out from the back of her helm, the only part of her that moves. Elves of the border watch are trained to wait, and she has been waiting a very long time.

A Tree To Paint: The emblem on the shield is a full tree, roots to crown, in raised relief inside a studded rim. A two tone treatment, light bark on a dark field or the reverse, makes it pop with very little brushwork. The scale hauberk runs down to a ragged hem that takes a wash and drybrush well, and the long ponytail gives you a soft, flowing surface to set against all that armour.
