From the maker
She is still waiting on the cliff path. The ship is not coming.
Lady Isolde Wren walked out to watch for her betrothed’s sails every evening for a year. On the last evening a storm came in off the water, and she never walked back. She still stands in that wind. Her hair has slipped its braids, her wrap streams out to one side, and she holds her arms crossed hard over her chest as if she is cold, or bracing for the news. Her face is the most human in this set: no skull showing through, just grief.
The Wind Is Part of the Sculpt: Every fold on her runs in the same direction, which is what makes the drapery read as motion rather than a heap of cloth. Follow that direction with your highlights and the whole figure leans. The crossed arms create a tight, detailed focal point against the loose flow of the gown, and the crown of braids at the back of her head is the finest texture on the model. At the hem the fabric breaks into long curling tendrils, where a translucent glaze will shine.
