Barro Vidriado Piña Hungara 18'' Decorative Pineapple Sculpture Handmade in San José de Gracia, Michoacán

This glazed ceramic pineapple was handmade in San José de Gracia, Michoacán, a Purépecha town renowned for perfecting the art of piñas vidriadas. Crafted from locally sourced clay and tepetate, it showcases traditional pineapple colors, vibrant green and yellow, that flow elegantly across its body and delicate crown. Hundreds of hand-applied "lengüitas" or clay scales create the signature textured surface, while each leaf on the crown is individually shaped and attached with meticulous care.

The piece receives a second high-temperature firing after glazing, creating a brilliant shine that reflects generations of artisanal knowledge. This stunning handmade piece brings warmth and character to any space. In Mexican tradition, displaying a pineapple symbolizes welcome and prosperity, making it a meaningful addition to your entryway, living room, or anywhere that deserves a touch of authentic craftsmanship.
