Zinapécuaro Floral Parákata Hourglass Ceramic Vase Handmade in Zinapecuaro, Michoacán

This handmade ceramic vase from Zinapécuaro, Michoacán celebrates the Purépecha tradition of honoring the Parákata—the monarch butterfly. Crafted using negative imprint techniques, it features a luminous glaze with deep contrast that flows across its elegant hourglass silhouette.

For centuries, the Purépecha people have revered these butterflies as harbingers of the harvest and as the returning spirits of their ancestors. Each year, monarchs signal the time to gather corn, making them sacred messengers between worlds. This vase carries that spiritual significance into your home. The wide opening and graceful form make it ideal for fresh floral arrangements, while its artisanal beauty serves as a striking statement piece for entryways, shelves, or as a meaningful addition to an altar or ofrenda. A vessel filled with cultural heritage and intention.
