This Zinapecuaro clay vessel with legs is a deep homage to the ancient designs and styles of ceramics from this region. Made with locally sourced clay, it is then burnished with river stones, utilizing one of the oldest techniques in pottery making. Its earth tone base with dotted and petrographic styles is a reflection of the ancestral knowledge that has been passed down through generations.

Geometrical intricate designs are patiently made with the negative-imprint technique where the piece is pulled from the fire, cooled, painted and then re-smoked for contrast and depth. Supported by three hand-shaped legs with ridges, its hand-painted details of a long wave spiral add a touch of spirit to any home.
