A loose fitting, boat neck jacket with straight sides. Sewn from a sheer kimono silk woven with subtle waving vertical lines. Turquoise and deep green narrow bias tubes of silk are looped and stitched around the collar band in a three dimensional decorative edge. A piece of the turquoise is used as a tie to hold the jacket closed. This top could be worn over a camisole or a tank top, a long sleeved or a turtle neck tee-shirt.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabrics used in this 'hitoe' were woven, stenciled and tie-dyed by Japanese artisans and sewn into kimonos. Others were stored as bolts on their way to become a kimono.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
