A loose fitting, straight sided top, I call this design 'hitoe,' which means unlined. This versatile top can be worn on its own, like a blouse, or over something else like a light weight jacket. It is sewn from a very cool Japanese kimono silk with dark and light greys, red and white 'ume' blossoms. The traditional design of five petalled plum blossoms are called ume. The textured collar fabric has a stylized stream design in navy. The sleeves can be rolled up to reveal the same silk as the collar. 5 glass buttons line the front.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. The fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabrics used in this 'hitoe' were woven and stenciled by Japanese artisans.
