A one of a kind jacket sewn from a vintage Japanese kimono silk. The white fabric has a design of red, orange and yellow bamboo leaves with subtle 'shadow' leaves scattered behind. The silk is a double ikat tsumugi. Tsumugi is a crisp, tightly woven fabric, prized for its warmth. Double ikat means that the threads are dyed in both directions and then woven. The jacket can be worn with the top button open or closed. 6 vintage mother of pearl buttons line the front. Pockets are in the side seams. The jacket is fully lined with silk charmeuse.

Reminiscent of the classic car coat shape, this flattering jacket is a loose, semi-A shape. The garment measures 44 inches bust, 48 inches hips, length at center back 29 inches. Size Small. [Approximate industry size 12/14.]

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabric used in this trench coat was woven by Japanese artisans, rolled into a bolt and carefully stored. When it came to me it was still in the bolt and had never been sewn into a kimono.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
