From the maker
This is one of those pouches I'm especially particular about.
I wanted it to feel solid in your hand and keep its shape, not flop over like a soft fabric pouch. So I use four layers: the outer fabric, cotton batting, firm interfacing, and lining. It's slightly padded, with a nice bit of bounce when you press it.
The metal frame takes extra time, too. I clamp it in place and then hand-stitch it through the holes along the frame. You can see those little stitches. I don't want the frame working loose after you've used it for a while.
And I love the weight of the antique brass clasp. I'm always trying out different fabrics, but quite a few of them just aren't sturdy enough for the shape I want. I only use the ones that work well with this construction.
For pens, glasses, or all those little things that end up loose in your bag.
