La Danza del Venado Skeleton Sculpture Handmade in Capula, Michoacan

This Catrina celebrates the traditions of the Yaqui and Mayo peoples of Sonora, Mexico, through the imagery of the deer dance and the iconic Catrina. This handmade skeleton sculpture features a beautifully detailed female Catrina dressed in an elaborate floral ensemble with golden embellishments. A striking floral arrangement surrounds the deer’s head, creating a unique composition rich in symbolism and craftsmanship.

Inspired by La Danza del Venado, a traditional performance honoring the relationship between people, animals, nature, and the land, this piece brings together Día de Muertos imagery with Indigenous Mexican traditions. Perfect for an ofrenda, altar, collection, or home display, this Catrina is a beautiful celebration of Mexican artistry, tradition, and the cycle of life.
