Tokuno Blue is Momotaro’s deepest indigo, and this is the first time the brand has cut it for women. The 11oz fabric is woven with a weft of Suvin cotton in slightly thicker yarns, packed at high density and run at minimal tension on the loom. The result is a cloth that reads heavier than it is — a rich, uneven surface with real presence — while the hand stays light and, thanks to the Suvin, smooth against the skin. The deep indigo sits on the warp and will fade slowly, with the texture of the weave coming through as it does.

The cut is super wide: generous from the thigh straight down to the hem, with a soft drape and an easy flow that keeps the volume light rather than heavy. A slightly higher rise wraps the hips, so the width starts from a defined waist — a wide jean that holds its shape and its elegance on the move. The front closes with a zip fly. 100% cotton. Made in Japan.

Fit Notes: This model fits true to size — we recommend taking your usual size. Momotaro’s women’s sizes follow the waist in inches, so a 25 corresponds to a 25 in American brands. The cut is super wide with a slightly higher rise, generous from the thigh to the hem, and meant to be worn with room throughout. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch about 0.5", allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time. We don’t recommend sizing down, as starting too tight may cause discomfort and alter the intended fit of the garment.
