The yarn is the design. Anonymous Ism twists several different yarns, in different fibers and colors, into a single homespun thread — a block of color shot through with white and flecks of the other strands — and knits the sock from that. The result is a dry, bouclé-like loop texture that looks hand-spun because, in effect, it is, with the irregularity that machine-made socks are built to avoid.

Knitted from a cotton-rich mix (64% cotton, 18% acrylic, 10% polyester, 7% nylon, 1% polyurethane) for softness with the durability a sock needs, and finished with ribbed cuffs and ankles that hold at the calf without digging in. Crew length, so the texture shows above a boot or a rolled hem. Made in Japan.
