Peary's 1909 arrival, becoming the first American to do so. Beneath Arctic ice and armed with the epoch's advanced navigation technology, it deftly navigated polar waters, revealing a new strategic dimension for naval operations. The Whale's expedition, a marvel of Cold War era submarine prowess, irrevocably charted the course of Arctic exploration and under-ice naval strategy.
