From the maker
She is playing. Whether that is a comfort depends entirely on where you are standing.
Linnet Ashgrove came up through tavern rooms and funeral processions and learned that the same eight notes will do for both if the room is dark enough. She plays with her eyes half closed and her weight already shifted toward the door — a habit from a town she does not discuss. What she does with a melody is not, strictly speaking, music, and the people it happens to rarely get a chance to describe it.
A Sculpt With Its Own Rhythm: Arbiter Miniatures kept this one slim and vertical, which makes a refreshing change on a shelf full of shoulders. The flute reads cleanly against the face without obscuring it, the feather in the cap is a natural spot colour, and the layered travelling clothes give you belt, cloak, tunic and boots as four separate zones without a single fussy detail.
