From the maker
He is sitting on someone else’s barrel. He has not asked, and he is not going to.
Tobin Quill works rooms rather than courts, and the barrel is deliberate — it puts him a foot above the crowd without putting him on a stage he would have to be invited onto. He knows four songs that will empty a tavern and one that will fill it, and he has been paid for all five.
A Sculpt That Brings Its Own Scenery: The barrel is sculpted as part of the base, which makes this one of the few models in the range that arrives with a piece of set dressing attached. Arbiter Miniatures gave the staves and hoops proper depth, so a wood-and-iron treatment there sells the whole tavern scene before you have painted a single wall.
