This is one of the pieces I'm most particular about.

This pouch is intentionally structured and firm — it is not a soft or slouchy fabric pouch. I use cotton batting together with firm interfacing so it keeps its shape, protects what’s inside, and has a solid feel in the hand.

The frame is clamped in place and then hand-stitched through the wire holes. You can see the stitching along the metal frame. That extra step keeps the frame securely attached and helps prevent it from loosening over time.

Inside, there are four layers: outer fabric, cotton batting, firm interfacing, and lining. The finished pouch has noticeable structure and thickness, with good bounce-back when pressed. This is intentional and part of the design.

The antique brass clasp also has a nice weight to it. I choose the fabrics specifically for this construction — many fabrics I test are simply too thin or soft to work well for this style.
