The Hell panel from Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights is the right wing of the triptych, painted between 1490 and 1510. It shows a nightmarish landscape lit by fires — a city burning in the dark background, hybrid creatures tormenting sinners, a figure being hanged from a giant lute. Art historians have never agreed on what the imagery means or where Bosch drew his sources from. The full triptych hangs at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. About this deck
