Stuck indoors on what should have been an amusing summer holiday,  a small group of exiles entertained themselves by penning horror stories to tell each other around the fire. The host was a bit of a writer himself. You may have heard of him?  Lord Byron. However, it wasn’t his story that has continued to inspire and terrify centuries later, but that of his guest, a teen bride who brought Frankenstein’s monster to life, and spawned the science fiction genre with one lightning strike. That’s right, Mary Shelley, OG goth girl, mother of science fiction, and forever the inspiration for what we keep in our desk drawer. The dark vanilla at the heart of this scent explores vanilla beyond gourmand -- leathery vanilla pods, the complex hints of wood and hay rounding  out its warmth, the barest hint of floralcy.
