A neon lighter -- the kind of disposable plastic lighter that has been in pockets and on bar counters since BIC introduced it in 1973. The lighter as subject in pop art functions the way Warhol's Campbell's soup can does: a mass-produced, democratic object rendered with the seriousness and scale usually reserved for fine art. Across a triptych, the lighter becomes monumental. Printed in gallery-quality UV ink on Grade-A Canadian maple. About this triptych
