On her first trip to Australia Rita fell in love with opals, but had trouble finding a piece of ready-made jewellery that she loved just as much. She decided the best solution would be to purchase a loose stone and worry about the design later.

A few years later, with her opal still without a setting, we discussed creating a ring design that would emphasize the beauty of the stone while also working with its unusual shape and size. Together, we created a secure bezel setting with the opal slightly off-set, emphasizing it's quadrilateral shape.
