It opens on pistachio, cardamom and raw sugar, turns toastier with roasted almond, then settles on warm musk and vanilla creme. True to the nut rather than to a dessert. Cognac Reign opens on caramelized bergamot and antique wood, burnt sugar over old timber. The heart brings cognac essence and concrete of orris, boozy and powdery together. The base rests on tonka and Limousin oak, sweet and barrel-dry. It’s baroque, baby. Wood gourmand, intensity 4 of 5.

Black Magenta opens on pink pineapple, galbanum and black pepper, tropical glow cut with green bitterness. The heart brings orris concrete, magenta dianthus and orange flower.
