A carved piece of natural jade with a small bird, branch and flower motif. the jade itself is an older piece, recycled from a piece of vintage jewelry and now set in this hand made ring.When I discovered this stone, I knew I wanted to incorporate the holes in the stone into the way it was set, and eventually settled on using solid 14k gold wire to give the ring and stone a sewn in effect. Each strand of wire is welded in from the inside of the ring, and then polished smooth for a comfortable fit. I decided on a high contrast finish between a roughened and oxidized texture on the ring and a high polish on the gold giving it a handsome and rugged masculine look.The signet is a size 10 and the stone itself measures 19mm x 14mm.
