"In Praise of Shadows -- Mirage Portrait" by Michael David Walrond -- an original 35mm film photograph from the Michael David Walrond series on deckarts. Shot entirely on analog film, the piece sits with shadow and half-light rather than resolving them, in keeping with Walrond's grain-forward, self-taught approach to portraiture. Walrond is a Seattle-based photographer whose work has shown in solo exhibitions in San Diego and New York, and been published in P Magazine, Osphilia, Others Magazine, Lomography, Artizians Magazine and Supersonic Art. Rendered in gallery-quality UV print on Grade-A 7-ply Canadian maple. About this deck
