Charming Xoloitzcuintle Day of the Dead Dog Scented Candle Made in Tlaxcala, Mexico.

In Mexican culture, it is believed that Xoloitzcuintles' role was to help souls pass through a deep and mighty river that crosses the land of the dead, helping them get safely to Mictlán, the underworld.  During Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, festivities, these dogs can be seen in ofrendas (offerings) to represent that guidance.

These beautiful dog candles are hand-painted by the talented hands of artisans in Tlaxcala, Mexico. This is the perfect piece to decorate your house for Día de Muertos, it can even be used in your ofrenda!
