The Immaculate Heart of Mary is a Catholic devotional image that developed in its current floral form in the 17th century, particularly through the visions described by Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque. The heart, shown pierced by a sword and surrounded by roses and flames, became one of the most widely reproduced religious images in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This version uses the traditional iconographic form with an added botanical surround. About this deck
