Some names are inherited. Bloodborne is earned — and Erska earned hers on the night of the Long Fire, when the settlement burned and she was the only one standing by morning. She doesn’t talk about what happened. She carries a spear and keeps moving, and every war-band she’s joined since has learned quickly that the woman with the reach weapon and the distant look is the last one you want as an enemy.

A Miniature Worthy of the Table: Erska Bloodborne is a spear-wielding female barbarian with the controlled intensity of a survivor rather than a berserker. The spear gives her a different combat profile from the axe-heavy rest of the range — more tactical reach, the suggestion of a warrior who plans as well as charges. An outstanding choice for players who want a barbarian that hits different.
