Ketil Hardstride does not believe in the approach. He believes in arriving, and he begins the swing somewhere back in the middle distance so that the two events happen at once. The blade is his clan’s work — the same knotwork the women of his line carry — and it is the only thing he owns that he has never once gambled away.

A Sculpt Caught One Step Before Impact: Arbiter Miniatures pitched the whole figure forward over the rocks so the weight reads correctly — trailing foot barely down, cloak still catching up. He carries no shield: the broad disc behind his shoulder is the head of the axe itself, a round knotwork blade seen face-on, and that flat face is the best freehand surface on the model. It is also the quickest way to tell him from the rune-bladed barbarian elsewhere in this range, who shares his pose but not his axe.
