Tiger’s Blood snow cone · fried funnel cake · powdered sugar · cigarettes
The rodeo is over.
Nobody went home.
After the Rodeo smells like the county fair after dark: Tiger’s Blood snow cones melting down your wrist, strawberry and watermelon syrup, coconut cream, hot fried funnel cake buried under powdered sugar, and cigarette smoke drifting in from somewhere behind the grandstands.
It opens sticky, fruity and almost embarrassingly sweet. Then the carnival sugar warms against the skin and something a little dirtier starts creeping in.
The lights are still on. Your boots are filthy. Someone lost a pearl choker. Nobody seems particularly concerned about finding it.
THE STORY
After the Rodeo began as a collaboration with a small-town Wyoming snow cone shack and a very specific idea:
What if you could bottle what happens after the county fair?
Not the rodeo queens. Not the blue ribbons. Not the wholesome part they put in the newspaper.
The other part.
The girls wandering away from the arena after dark. The last funnel cake of the night. Sticky red snow-cone tongues. Cigarettes behind the carnival rides. Music coming from somewhere you probably shouldn’t follow.
A little Western summer folklore, bottled before anyone could get their story straight.
