From the maker

The base tells you how this fight goes.

It is carpeted in skulls, not one or two set-dressing pieces but a dense bed of them the scorpion is standing on. That single decision turns a large arthropod into a story: this thing has a hunting ground, and you are standing in the middle of it. The sculpt itself catches the animal at the top of its strike, tail arced high and forward with the stinger already dropping, pincers braced wide and low. Every tail segment is separately defined, and the carapace carries a fine pebbled texture across the back that reads clearly at arm’s length.

A Miniature Built to Be Painted: Two textures meet on this model and they want opposite treatments. The hard shell takes a gloss or a satin varnish beautifully (the painted example shown here was finished in-house at Project Kirtrite with a high-gloss carapace and a translucent amber stinger), while the skull bed underneath wants a flat, chalky drybrush to sit back and let the creature pop. It is one of the easiest models in the range to make look expensive, because the contrast does the work for you. The 60mm base is included and gives you room to add sand, grit or a half-buried find of your own.

Suggested RPG Use: The classic desert ambush, where the ground gives way and it’s already on top of the marching order. A beast-pit guardian in a gladiatorial arc. The reason a caravan route was abandoned. On a 60mm footprint it also works as a Large-category creature straight out of the box without any rebasing, which makes it one of the few monsters in this price range you can drop into an encounter unmodified.
