THE STORY

The chrysanthemum is sometimes a symbol for "forever”, thus meaning "longevity" because of the similarity in pronunciation.

Here, a Chrysanthemum Guardian brings a needle and thread to keep a treasured item intact.

THE COLLECTION

[The Luckier] is a visual exploration of the liminal space we often retreat into when in a state of indecision.     Drawing upon the fear and uncertainty that we deal with in the face of success, feelings of displacement are emphasised by creating characters using Chinese fortune symbology, which can be viewed as a guide or a symptom of stress, or both.     [The Luckier] refers to a kind of ideal self. One who does not doubt opportunity, indulge in self sabotage, or allow the absurdity of an ideal to ruin the pursuit of it.
