Transfiguration is a commanding, highly tactile abstract seascape from Tetiana Pchelnykova’s conceptual series Depths of Freedom. In this series, Pchelnykova explores the majesty of the ocean and sky as metaphors for unyielding personal and spiritual freedom. The canvas translates her core guiding philosophy: "Light changes its form, but it never vanishes." A funnel of golden-amber and soft coral light descends through dramatic layers of turquoise, cobalt, and sapphire-purple waters, spilling in sculpted, impasto ripples across the foreground. Grounded in Deep Ecology and Henri Bergson’s concept of the "memory of matter," Pchelnykova integrates structural modeling paste and gold leaf accents to build a multi-dimensional surface that dynamically catches and reflects ambient light, capturing the eternal cycle of renewal, resilience, and transformation.
