This face sculpture is inspired by David Bowie with the main focus being his iconic Eyes. The overall design for this piece is a fusion of Marias bestselling 'Flash' and mask sculptures to give this unique artwork.

The sculpture has had a total of 3 fires (times in the Kiln) and is finished in gloss which covers a Gold 'Flash' painted in real Gold Luster.

This new version of the sculpture is framed with a Black Starry night sky effect background which is painted with an iconic Gold 'Flash' using real Gold Leaf.

As a teenager Bowie got into a fight with his school pal and, later, lifetime artistic partner George Underwood which led to his left pupil remaining permanently expanded, a condition called 'Anisocoria'.
