I'm really pleased with how this hand-finished florentine finish looks next to the polished yellow gold. The contrast both in texture and color is just perfect for the aesthetic I wanted on this piece. Traditionally, you'd apply this type of finish with a hand graver, but I chose to do it with a scribe instead to give it a more freehand/brushed look.

The sapphires I used here are the same stones which I sifted from gravel myself in a video I posted a while back:
