When visiting some of our favourite lapidarists and stones suppliers, we cannot help choosing a few pieces simply because they are too good to pass up - not because we have a plan for what they might one day become.

On one such visit, we found two pairs of beautifully cut tear-drop shaped stones : amethysts and blue topaz. While we pondered what to make of them, these lovely gems sat in our safe. That was until twin sisters Carla and Paula came through our studio doors, set on creating a jewellery piece for themselves that represented who they were - similar in concept, but wholly different.

Using the two pairs of tear-drop shaped stones, one pair in purple amethysts set in 18k white gold and the other pair of blue topaz set in 18k yellow gold - both finished with handmade lever back closures.
