The jacket is cut from a remarkable 16oz nep fabric, where the warp is woven with heavily textured long-slub yarns and the weft incorporates nep yarns spun from recycled cotton. This unique combination yields highly expressive vertical fades that emerge through wear, ensuring a one-of-a-kind patina over time. Woven on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms under low tension, the fabric boasts a rugged, tactile handfeel with impressive depth of character—a true celebration of Japanese shuttle-loom weaving traditions.

Dyed using 100% pure indigo and a traditional rope-dyeing method, the yarn retains a white core (中白), creating beautiful vintage-style fades. The mid-indigo tone replicates a classic hue from the 1950s, built to age gracefully.

Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
