From the maker

The lion on the shield is not his order’s symbol. He took it off someone.

Brother Aldric came to the faith late and by an unusual road, and it shows in how he fights — there is nothing ceremonial about the mace. He holds services in the morning and settles matters in the afternoon, and the parish has learned not to enquire too closely about the arrangement. The hood stays up indoors. Nobody has asked him why twice.

A Sculpt That Puts the Detail Where You Can Reach It: Arbiter Miniatures faced the lion boss directly outward, so the single most interesting element on the model is also the easiest to paint. The layered vestments carry a row of raised orbs down the front that take a metallic beautifully, and the deep hood casts its own shadow — a zenithal prime does most of the face for you.
