This knight pendant features a carved malachite shield matrix engraved with a flying swift, and engraved with the phrase NOW OR NEVER.

In the Middle Ages, swift birds were an inspiration for the mythical martlet, a bird that was said to have no feet and that never roosted.  In nature, swifts feed and mate in the sky. This combination of phrase and symbol invokes on-your-feet decision-making, taking risks, and doing things boldly 'on the fly'.

Historically, seals secured correspondence and verified the authority of the sender before a message was opened. This piece is a nod to that tradition, functioning as both pendant and working desk seal.
