From the maker
Pointed hat, long beard, unimpressed expression. You know exactly what he does.
Magister Emeric Quill is the archetype played completely straight: the crooked hat, the beard down the chest, the robe pooling on the floor. The scroll is open across both palms and he is reading it, not brandishing it. A pipe is tucked up by the collar, which tells you he was doing something else entirely until about a minute ago.
Four Fabrics And Nothing Else: Almost the whole model is cloth: robe, cloak, sleeves and hat, each cut with a different fold rhythm so they never blur into one mass. That makes it the most beginner-friendly sculpt in the range. A base coat, one heavy wash and a light drybrush gives you a finished miniature, because the geometry is doing the shading for you. The brim of the hat throws a genuine shadow across the face, so even a flat skin tone reads as modelled underneath it.
