Beautiful and Resistant Table Runners 100% Handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico.

The community of Santo Tomás Jalieza in Oaxaca is known for its traditional Zapotec weaving, telar de cintura, which involves using a backstrap loom to create intricate designs on textiles.

The weavers in this community incorporate bold geometric patterns into their work and, in this case, they used a specific technique known as "aplastado y levantado," or "flattened and lifted," that involves flattening and lifting individual threads to achieve a more detailed and wide pattern in their weaving.

Woven threads of 100% thick cotton

Intricate texture and design achieved by laborious "aplastado y levantado ( flattened and lifted)" technique that covers most of the surface

DIMENSIONS: 84” Long x 12.5” Wide

CARE: Handwash with mild detergent and air dry. Iron on low.

At Lolo - Mercadito we are committed to acknowledging the nature of each product. With each purchase, you get a unique and authentic piece handmade with love by artisans from Mexico. These table runners are artisanal products. For this reason, there might be some flaws and variations in sizing, stitching, and design.
