Two bronze hoplites that were never alive to begin with.

Medusa sculpted this pair out of the same armoury. Crested Corinthian helms, cuirass anatomy worked straight into the metal, belted war skirts and bare bronze legs. The first stands with a longspear held high and a studded round hoplon strapped to his arm, weight still even, nothing decided yet. The second has already committed: sword swung out wide, body turned in behind a tall shield carved with running spiral work. Neither has a face, only the empty slit of a helm, and that is what sells them as constructs rather than soldiers. Put them beside a rank of human infantry and the proportions give the game away immediately, because nothing built that heavy should be balanced that lightly.

A Sculpt That Rewards Metallics: The spiral relief on the tall shield and the ridged helm crests are where a wash does most of your work for you, and the chest plates are broad and flat enough to take verdigris or a heat blued gradient without fighting any detail. Leave the helm slit black and the model reads as hollow all the way through.
