Celestial Mermaids and Planetary Charms!

These oversized high quality enamel mermaid pins are more than cute ornaments — they were also designed to act as planetary charms. Each mermaid is inspired by one of the seven celestial bodies/deities recognized in traditional astrology. As such, her design incorporates colors, symbols, and sea creatures that resonate with her patron planet. Additionally, each Celestial Mermaid has an affirmation inspired by their respective planetary patron engraved on the back, to help bring the blessings of that planet into your life!

~ Saturn ~

This mermaid’s celestial patron is planet and deity, Saturn! Dour and disciplined, Saturn is known in astrology as the greater Malefic and belongs to the Day Sect. Saturn rules death, time, darkness, famine, corruption, boundaries, discipline, tradition, limitations, contracts, ignorance, fear, the elderly, toil, duty, burdens, illnesses, poverty, banishing, and restriction. The ancient astrological grimoire titled The Picatrix says that Saturn is associated with “senators and rulers of cities, hermits, those who labor in the earth, [the] restoration of citizenship and inheritance, distinguished men, farmers, builders of buildings, servants, thieves, fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers,” and goes on to say that Saturn can be petitioned "If you find yourself in contemplation and sorrow, or in melancholy or grave illness."

Saturn’s planetary day is Saturday, and their duties are to reveal the limitations of all material things, restrict and bind, banish, keep contracts, impose the heavy seriousness of consequence, instill personal responsibility, and grant the discipline required to keep one’s agreements, as well as preserve and  respect tradition.

Saturn’s celestial affirmation reads: "I set boundaries that protect me, my time, and my energy; I am patient and disciplined as I tend to my responsibilities."
