Autumn reminds us of the opportunity of letting go of the old, to make room to allow the new in. As the wheel turns we are invited into the darkness to better understand our own inner workings. A time of honoring our ancestors and those who have passed and come before us, paving the path we walk today. This time of year invites a new kind of magic, a slowness and softness in allowing things to unfold.

This Samhain Portal has been held for a few October seasons. It beckoned it's completion this year. Featuring a stunning black tourmaline included quartz, with real snake skin covering the entire back of this piece that has been plated in copper.

With real rodent bones and a chipmunk skull framing the entire crystal, also all plated in copper.

Black tourmaline is one of the most protective crystals in the mineral kingdom and is said to literally absorb negative energy. Because of this it does need to be cleansed regularly.

Snake skin has long been used in advanced magic work, as it enhances the desire to be cloaked and invisible to those that mean to harm you.

This piece holds a pair of faceted black onyx beads within the chain.
